This section covers anecdotes and learnings from my father.
Papa was intelligent, calm, and a very pleasant individual. He was an eternal optimist — one of the few people I’ve known who was truly content with what he had. His belief was simple: every day brings something good, if only we notice it instead of being swept away by what isn’t.
My parents were a contrast in motion. If Papa was a placid lake, Mummy was the tumultuous sea. Their methods often diverged, yet their destination was always the same.
Papa was also a deeply engaged parent. During the years I lived at home, every day was filled with conversations — sometimes light, sometimes intense, but always thoughtful.
Teaching was not just his profession but his calling. He built his career in Teacher Education, and his passion gave him a deep understanding of psychology. I became the testing ground for many of his techniques, though I didn’t always realise it at the time. To this day, I use much of what I learned from him in my own life.
