This section covers learnings from my mother through several anecdotes.
I was born ten years after my sister, growing up almost like an only child. It gave me many privileges — and also meant my mother had the time (and determination) to shape me her way.
Her tireless attempts to shape my character often collided with my stubbornness — and particularly, my teenage years were anything but easy.
When I left for Engineering college, the tensions began to ease. But true recognition of her influence came much later — almost twenty years on.
After my father passed away, she came to live with me. What followed was a wonderful decade — a time of true bonding, when I began to understand her not only as my mother but also as a person in her own right. She was strong, funny, and wise in her own quiet way.
More importantly, I saw clearly how deeply she had shaped me. A large part of my life and success traces back to her.
